Start the Generate process geometry command. Select the Generic contour mode with the Search to close option. Pick the circular contour on the workpiece. Accept the selection and press the Accept button again to build the welding contour and to compute the welding path.
1.2
Change to Program toolpath. Use the green cone to move the start position of the path.
1.3
Open the Active program dashboard. press the Technology base tab and open the Welding setup container. Change the tool angle to 90 deg.
1.4
Open the Toolpath calculation tab and the Approximation container. Change the Calculation mode to LIN (linear). This will create only (small) linear motions to represent the contour.
1.5
Change the approximation attribute Max. sag to 8mm. This defines the maximum allowed deviation of the calculated welding path from the process geometry contour. Run a simulation before and after to see the differences.
1.6
Reset the approximation settings. Then, change the Maximum distance between the welding path positions to 30mm.
1.7
Open the Local offsets container and set the Contour offset to 5 mm.
1.8
Set the Sheet offset to 5 mm. Notice the difference with the contour offset attribute.
