The software supports the standard Copy and Paste operations with using the keyboard key combinations Ctrl+C (Copy) and Ctrl+V (Paste). The Copy and Paste operation can be applied at layout level and at the level of the individual components resources, controllers and workpieces.

A resource, controller or workpiece component can be instantiated (multiplied) in the open layout. When the component is copied, the instance component is placed at the same location as its original. From there it can be repositioned and manipulated like any other component in the layout. The component itself is no new one nor a duplicate. Copying a component in a layout is the same as adding that component again to the layout.

It is also possible to copy and paste geometrical bodies from a resource, controller or workpiece component. The copied geometrical body initially will be placed at the origin of the world coordinate system of the layout, and will be stored within the cendoc document when saving the layout. From there the copied geometry can be inserted into another (or new) component of the layout.
