Purpose
Use the Resource Builder workbench to easily build the spot welding gun.
The geometry of the gun will be imported from an external file to build the tool resource. To be able to use it in a welding project, it will be completed with the appropriate information.

Steps
1
Preparation
1.1
Switch to the Resource Builder workbench.
1.2
Create a new, empty document.
If another document is already open in the running session, this step has to be executed. If not, this step can be skipped.
1
Click on the File command in the upper document toolbar. A drop down menu opens.
2
Click on the New command.
3
If a document is already open, a message appears to decide to save that document, close it without saving or to cancel the execution of the New command.
2
Define the tool resource
2.1
Import the geometry from the files C-Type Weld Gun Spot Fix.cgr and C-Type Weld Gun Spot Mobile.cgr, which are located on the installation drive of this manual. The files can be imported simultaneously.
2.2
Create a new tool type resource for the welding gun.
3
Build the welding gun shape
3.1
Build the kinematic skeleton for the moveable electrode of the gun. With this kinematic, the gun can be closed and opened while programming the welding spots.
The manipulator is placed at the coordinates:
X
-25,000
RX
180,000
Y
-6,000
RY
-45,000
Z
665,000
RZ
-165,000
3.2
Attach the moveable electrode geometry to the kinematic joint of the resource.
3.3
Attache the static electrode and body of the gun to the resource root frame.
3.4
Display all the attached geometry.
4
Define the welding gun properties
4.1
Give an appropriate name to the gun and define the motion limits of the movable electrode.
4.2
Define the home position(s) of the moveable electrode.
4.3
Create a tool frame at the static electrode. This frame will be used as the current TCP during the programming.
The manipulator is placed at the coordinates:
X
260,270
RX
178,225
Y
69,653
RY
-44,972
Z
959,167
RZ
-162,490

Save
5.1
Save the completed welding gun.
Be sure to save your data frequently.
