Designing a resource typically is the process of importing 3D (CAD) geometry, creating the kinematic behavior (when applicable) and defining the additional attributes such as adapters and the type of resource. Finally the whole package is saved as a resource type document.

The function toolbar that is placed at the left side of the 3D View has a group of commands to create a resource. Stepping top down in this toolbar is a guideline to create a new resource from scratch.
