Purpose

Setting up the laser cut project means building the manufacturing environment with the laser cut machine and all other necessary devices, fixtures and of course the workpiece, as it would be operating in reality.

The machine set up will be copied from a template master workcell. In this master workcell the layout of the cell with the machine, the part positioner and other necessary equipment has been built.

Steps

1

Preparation (if needed)

Depending on the license package that is used:

1.1

Workbench_LBa_40

Switch to the Layout Builder workbench.

SimToClose

Or

Workbench_OLP_40

Switch to the Offline Programming workbench.

SimToClose

1.2

DocNew

Create a new, empty document.

2

Build the workcell

2.1

Information

While switching to any workbench, the Operation mode Normal is set active automatically. When working in the Offline Programming workbench, one has to switch to the Operation mode Drag & snap to be able to move the individual components in the fixture assembly.

2.2

DocAdd

Add the previously, in paragraph 2.2 created fixture layout to this project.

2.3

Assign

Add the workpiece to the layout and connect it to the fixture by using the drag and snap functionality.

2.4

DocAdd

Load the laser machine Prima LaserNext 1530 from the library.

2.5

LayerManager

Use layers to show and hide parts of the laser machine.

2.6

Assign

Place the fixture with workpiece on the turntable of the laser machine by using the drag and snap functionality.

3

Prepare for collision analysis

Steps to prepare the workcell to run a collision analysis during simulation.

3.1

Workbench_OLP_40

Switch to the Offline Programming workbench.

SimToClose

3.2

Sim_Collision

Define collision groups for the laser head and the fixture with workpiece.
